Frequent Questions and Answers

What is the 6AV1242-0AB10?

• It is a graphic communication processor (CP 527) used in Siemens Simatic S5 automation systems (such as the S5-135U / 155U series) to drive color video displays/monitors and handle data or printer output.

Is the product still active or discontinued?

• Discontinued / Cancelled: Siemens has marked the product line as phased out / cancelled without a direct functional replacement product.

Where can I buy or repair one?

• Because it is obsolete, it is no longer sold brand-new directly by Siemens.

• You can source refurbished, used, or tested replacement units from industrial automation suppliers like Classic Automation, MRO Electric, or JC-Electronics, many of which offer 1-to-2 year warranties or repair/exchange services.
